Mutemwa - Tiger Fishing

In north-western Zambia, about 400km up the Zambezi from Mutemwa, is the best kept secret in fresh water fishing. It’s THE place to catch "wild" Tiger, bream and an incredible variety of other fresh water species.

This part of Africa is truly wild and is so remote that the Tiger have never been fished before. You really stand a good chance of catching big specimens! They are plentiful, ferocious and BIG!!!

Although this is a safari bush camp, the accommodation and facilities are very comfortable. Accommodation is in safari bow tents (3m x 3m). There are comfortable beds, mattresses and linen. There is a central ablution facility with hot showers, toilets and basins.

Mutemwa has a reputation for good food - and lots of it! The local Nembwe and 3-spot Bream are delicious - so fresh fish is always on the menu.

Four 6-metre aluminium boats are properly equipped with depth finders, GPS and conventional fishing tackle (including trawling and spinning rods and reels and a variety of lures). Each boat has an experienced guide, and a maximum of 12 clients will be accommodated at one time (or 2-3 anglers per boat)

The boats are skippered by experienced guides who are able to rig and fix tackle and give advice. Please note that our policy is to catch and release, but our guides weigh, measure and photograph any fish you may want "proof" of the “one that DIDN’T get away”.

The Lungwebungu Fishing Safari is to be run during April and May in 2009. Please book early to assure your place and avoid disappointment…
